TOHO GODZILLA SUIT 17

TokyoGoji (2003)

Three giant monsters, one violent final battle!
This suit can be seen in these movies:

Upgraded with a Giant Scar

For the film Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., the sequel to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Godzilla’s appearance remained basically the same. A new suit named TokyoGoji, was created with an almost identical design, only sporting a large scar on the chest region, sustained from Kiryu’s Absolute Zero Cannon in the previous film.

Godzilla × Mothra × Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003)

A giant scar is the one big difference

The suits from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Godzilla × Mothra × Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. are 99% identical. The biggest change is the large scare on Godzilla’s chest, but there may be other small changes. It’s possible Wakasa either re-casted the suit or gave it a darker paint job. In Tokyo S.O.S. the skin contrasts a lot more with the teeth and claws.

Another minute difference is at the base of the tail, where a spine is switched to a more unique one. Apparently Wakasa duplicated an upper side spine in the 2002 suit.
