RJ Axen's Godzilla Costume V2

I decided that I wanted to build this suit shortly after learning that Satsuma had passed. Having been the first Godzilla suit actor that I had ever met, and being the actor that portrayed my personal favorite version of the character, I felt the best way to honor him was to attempt to emulate the hardships that he went through.

As for how I decided which version to base my suit on, I had been scrolling through Twitter one day and happened upon a photoshoot from what I can only assume was the 80s of Shinichi Wakasa’s reproduction of the MosuGoji suit. The pudgy body and grumpy expression of this particular reproduction really spoke to me and was my primary reference, even more so than the film used suit itself.

This suit is not only still around, but is currently being slightly modified for con appearances this summer (2025) at All Monsters Attack and G-Fest so that the feet are a little more comfortable to walk around in and the tail clashes into the lower body less.
