Don’t use this glue on foam

The adhesives I started with is a spray contact cement, when used correctly it is supposed to be stronger than the foam but seams started to come apart after a few days. I tried experimenting with drying times but it didn’t matter. I tried switching to this tube glue but had worse results and it melts the foam (see image).
