COREY HARRISON’S MECHAGODZILLA
I Started working with EVA foam, it’s a strong yet flexibly material that’s easily accessible. Working with the basic proportions of my shoulders, I equaled the neck and chest to be just a few inches bigger, to keep up a good size for such a build.
Added in the small node pieces at the sides of the chest, outside the collar. Wasn’t exactly sure how to make these shapes from foam crafting, so, blocked some Foamular scraps together, and carved them into shape.
Added back ports for the base of stabilizer thrusters, started to clean those seams, and added tubing that travels from the top of the shoulders, to the stabilizer housing. Just PVC and plastic tubing.
The shape for the shoulder and Bicep was probably the hardest part. The movie version seems Casted , and has a pin joint in it, to have the bicep to move separate from the shoulder plate, yet, move freely on the actual body without alot of movement loss.
Got tired of struggling to make the upper arm section work and look great simultaneously, Made the forearms, very easily actually. Made one pattern, did it twice but flipped, and made a 3 inch wall of foam to make a full forearm. Heavily rounded my edges.
